Touch-A-Life is a non-profit whose mission is to encourage, inspire and challenge exceptional students from disadvantaged backgrounds, to transform their lives. We achieve this goal by providing educational opportunities through TAL scholarships. as We are committed to ensuring that every deserving student is given the opportunity to access a tertiary institution regardless of family background.
Education is known to be one of the greatest tools of transformation. We started TAL Scholarship as a platform to connect those who want to do something about the inequalities they observe in our communities, with those in need. We observed that there were few opportunities available for high-achieving students from disadvantaged backgrounds looking to advance their studies beyond the secondary level. TAL is simply a platform of connection for those generous people who wish to raise others less fortunate than them, out of poverty, through sponsoring their university education.
The TAL Scholarship is different from other scholarship and other platforms in that we go all the way to ensure a thorough selection process right from when applicants are still attending secondary schools and even visit them in their homes, all to ensure that only those who need this help the most are being awarded these scholarships.
Furthermore, each successful student who becomes a TAL scholar is sponsored throughout the undergraduate years and not just yearly. Our Scholars also benefit from non-monetary help such as mentoring, life skills training and job placements.

Each scholar receives N100,000 yearly or N200,000 to N600,000 each, depending on the course of study at each university or Polytechnic.
Nearly all TAL Scholars receive scholarships that cover their tuitions all through their undergraduate years and often extend to cover other costs such as books and equipment. This depends on the individual fees charged by each institution and the duration of each course.

The application process is in three stages.
The first round requires applicants to complete our application form. The form requires applicants to state their grades and family circumstances, provide school head and teacher’s recommendations and detail their extracurricular activities. The second round consists of examinations and interviews with the trustees. About 10-15% of students are invited for the second round, with the exact number determined by the size of the given year's applicant pool. We thereafter visit shortlisted applicants in their home before confirming their selection.
